Councillor Groome currently serves as Business Manager for BuildingSMART International, a membership organisation in construction and facilities management. With three school age sons, he has a passion to get Northamptonshire’s schooling into the top quartile nationally. He is a Governor of Southfield School for Girls and Chair of the Kettering Old Grammar School Foundation, an educational charity which runs a programme for the gifted and talented and helps students in need. His other interests are in public transport and planning, especially in relation to getting the required services and infrastructure for the planned growth in Northamptonshire’s population. His main hobby is bell ringing
