Born in Northampton, Jane grew up in St Davids attending Kingsthorpe Grove School and Northampton School for Girls in St Georges Avenue.
Jane was elected as Borough Councillor for St David Ward in Northampton in 2003 then as County Councillor for St David Division in 2005. The opportunity of further enhancing the good work being done by the newly elected councillors was the overwhelming reason for standing for the County Council elections in May 2005. Jane was Co-Chair of the Northampton Area Committee in 2005 to 2006. She is currently Deputy Leader of the Lib Dem Group on the County Council. Jane was re-elected to the Borough Council in 2007.
Jane was selected for the Leadership Centre ‘Next Generation’ programme run by the Local Government Association, one of 20 ‘high flying’ Liberal Democrat Councillors selected nationally.
