Councillor Andrew Langley

Andrew is married to Susanne, a nurse at Northampton General Hospital, and they have two young children. Having been born and brought up in Irthlingborough, I was delighted and very proud to be elected first in 2005 and then re-elected in 2009 as the county councillor. I am passionate about seeing Irthlingborough and our neighbouring villages of Woodford and the Addingtons prosper, and will continue to work hard to represent all the people that I serve.

In June of 2009, I was asked to serve on the Cabinet of the county council, and am currently Cabinet Member for Local Government Shared Services. It is a challenging role, not least because I also run my own small business in Wellingborough, which supplies promotional business gifts. I have a degree in Business Management and specialised in economics. My previous role at the County Council was as Chairman of the Northamptonshire Local Government Pension Fund, and I have also served for 4 years on financial scrutiny.

Outside of spending time with family and friends, my main personal interest is sport, having been a life long fan of both the Diamonds and the Saints. I also enjoy playing cricket, tennis and golf as regularly as my diary allows, which is not as often as I would like. I also love the theatre, especially musicals, and films.
