First elected as a County Councillor in 2001 representing the Brixworth Division, which incorporates 15 villages.
In addition, Chris has been Leader of Daventry District Council since August 1999, Chairman of the Shadow Board of the Northamptonshire Waste Partnership and is a Board member of the West Northamptonshire Development Corporation.
He became a County Councillor in order to attempt to join up the efforts of both the District and County Councils in a co-ordinated and efficient manner for the benefit of the residents of Northamptonshire. He is a keen advocate for protecting the integrity of all the villages within the Brixworth Division and acting as a strong voice for the constituents he represents.
His main areas of interest since joining the County Council have been in the scrutiny of both the finance function of the Council and the manner in which it utilises its resources. A keen interest in monitoring the effectiveness of the County Council’s role in providing value for money for the citizens of Northamptonshire against ever-increasing expectations in the modernisation of local government services but limiting the cost to the taxpayer.
Chris, who lives in Brixworth and has three sons, has a previous career of working in the banking industry for 25 years. His interests include outdoor pursuits, travelling, dancing, and music.
