Ron was born in Rushden and has lived in the West Division of the town for most of his life. Married to Janet with 2 grown up children and 2 grandchildren he is now retired from the company he established and ran for 30 years servicing the engineering requirements of the footwear industry. His main interests include photography, historic aircraft and politics.
He is a district councillor on East Northamptonshire Council and was its Chairman in 2004/2005. He also serves on Rushden Town Council and was Mayor of Rushden in 2002/2003.
Elected as a County Councillor in May 2005, Ron is a member of the Community Services Scrutiny Committee and the East Northamptonshire Area Committee. The committees he serves on have direct inputs into the well-being of the elderly population and social services of the County for which he has a keen interest in promoting.
