Bernard was born and educated in Northampton and moved to live in the South Northants area in 1976 where he has lived in Blisworth for the last seven years.
He is married with two sons and two grand children and his personal interests include watching sport, spending time with his family and travelling.
Bernard was elected as a Conservative County Councillor for the Roade Division on the 6th May 2005 having previously been a Parish Councillor.
As a County Councillor, Bernard feels that he can make a difference to his local community and the people of Northamptonshire.
He is a member of the Children & Families and the Community Scrutiny Committees as well as The Corporate Parenting Board.
As shown by his choice of Scrutiny Committees, Bernard is interested in all aspects of Social Care Services. As a School Governor he is concerned with the Education of our Young People, and the provision of Educational, Sporting and Leisure opportunities for all levels of ability.
