Born in Northampton Alan is married to Christine and has lived in Rothwell since 1967, they have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. Alan was in the RAF and has worked in the leather industry as an international sales manager. Today he has more or less retired. Alan has served as a Councillor on Rothwell Town Council for around 20 years and has also been a Kettering Borough Councillor. He was appointed as Mayor of Kettering in 2002/-3. Elected as a County Councillor in May 2005 for the division of Rothwell, Alan is a member of the Environment, Development and Transport Scrutiny Committee.
His interests include the restoration of vintage and classic cars and flying.
