Councillor Mary Butcher

Mary Butcher is the County Councillor for Oakley in Corby. She was elected in 2013, but has been actively involved in her community for much longer.

Mary has served as a Corby Borough Councillor since 2007 and was Mayor of Corby from 2009 to 2010. She is the Portfolio Holder for Domestic Violence on Corby Borough Council and also represents the Borough on the County’s Police and Crime Panel. Mary was formerly Chair of Scrutiny at Corby Borough Council and now sits on the Licensing and Development Control committees.

Mary is the Shadow Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care for the County Labour Group and also a member of the Health, Adult Care and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee.

She feels honoured to have been elected and describes herself as the ‘eyes, ears and voice’ of local people with her heart firmly entrenched in her community.
